POLITICS FOR SELF-SERVICE

The idealization of democracy has been prostituted; the brazen objective of the “political machines” is diverted towards a brazen and fraudulent pursuit of interests, for which anything goes, regardless of the means. Its essence is shattered by a pragmatism that is Machiavellian, sectarian, mafia-like, and opportunistic. Ideology is left to convince malleable and tactically docile minds with narratives and mantras, however absurd and ludicrous.
