It’s neither praiseworthy, nor understandable, much less plausible, to write verse in these fearful times, preoccupied as they are with other matters. What a state of affairs! Yet, almost everything can be elevated to poetry, including butterflies, deceptive democracies, and the Mester de Clerecía (a traditional Spanish poetic tradition).
