HEAVENLY?

BRAVE NEW WORLD is a magnificent futuristic novel published by Aldous Huxley in 1932; the fictitiousness of his action might seem to have no place in the reality of the thought of that time, but extrapolating it to the current vicissitudes the world is going through, one can deduce a great deal of similarity with what is being inoculated in society today. It is confirmed that he advanced in time the description of a social model based on technology adulterating what is essentially human, through reproductive techniques and control of demographic movements, tissue cultures, cloning, hypnopedia (indoctrinate during sleep) and manipulation of emotions through medicines and drugs, with the joint purpose of radically changing society.

Humanity, globally, would be endowed with a social composition weakened in its roots, to «function» as a remote-controlled protectorate divided into «castes», where each one is assigned a place, personal and non-transferable, prior imposition of objectives to be met, in exchange for a status, supposedly healthy, technologically advanced and sexually free; poverty and wars would be eradicated and demographic control strongly intervened: THE RULING CASTE would determine an existence installed in the «longed for happiness» and, paradoxically, this «paradise» would be accessed by eliminating everything that sweetens life such as family, cultural diversity, art, the advancement of bio-ethics, literature, religious creeds, philosophy and love. The derision plot would be carried out following the tyrant’s road map

The coldness of rigor banishes tenderness, manipulates the expansion of thought, robotizes the body and leaves feeling torn; although, my friends: we humanists are clear that HAPPINESS can only be processed by the soul and humanism has been ingrained since man was man.
